Carey has always lived a bit in her own imagination. After spending her childhood dreaming up stories in Connecticut, she headed to Boston to study English and children’s literature. Life then took her to southern Maine, where she spent twenty years raising three children and teaching elementary school. Today, Carey channels that magic into creating children’s picture books and freelance illustration. When she isn’t drawing, she is performing music with her husband, Will, or traveling the world. She now calls Texas home and, for the record, she definitely believes in magic.
